The story: A sudden
family crisis throws a befuddled writer and his "loose
cannon" dad together for an unexpected road trip. Family
secrets are uncovered and in a few surprising days, the two
men learn more about each other -- and have more fun -- than
either imagined possible. Directed by Raymond De Felitta
(Sundance Audience Award winner "Two Family House"), "The
Thing About My Folks" is a story of fathers and sons,
husbands and wives, and two men learning to love the women
who love them.
"The Thing About My Folks"
is a semi- autographical film
that Reiser wrote specifically for Falk, his all-time favorite actor.

"The Thing About My Folks is a wonderful movie for anyone who ever had
parents. Peter Falk gives an Oscar winning performance as Paul
Reiser's befuddled, cantankerous yet loving father. Mr. Reiser's first
attempt at movie making is truly magical, a roller coaster ride of humor and
sorrow that is not to be missed. As Mr. Reiser said of the film's
message, "You need to do what you can for your family and then you do a
little more." Paul Reiser has certainly done much for us in writing,
producing and acting in this gem."

Preview & Opening Reviews:
A jewel, brilliantly conceived!
A flawless movie; brilliantly written and acted.
Peter Falk is fantastic! The depth of Reiser's
understanding of the human experience across all age groups and sexes is
amazing. One begins a thoroughly believable journey as the relationships within
this family unfold. It's an intimate, funny, heart warming time with good
people. Through the introduction of the characters and the development of the
story one cares very much for these people and celebrates joyously the unfolding
of the sweet father-son relationship as they see their lives in a new context. The ending is surprising, thoughtful and very satisfying. The photography is
superb, making the movie a joy to watch, but the excellent writing can hold its
own.
